On most evenings for the past 14 months, Early Nguyen has spent hours painstakingly creating an homage to his favourite cartoon character, Where’s Wally.

It’s taken Mr Nguyen 1,130 hours to create a huge artwork using minuscule pieces of paper, all 14,844 of which he has traced and cut by hand.
The finished product — a recreation of a Where’s Wally scene called ‘Unfriendly Giants’ — is roughly the size of a 70-inch television screen.
The 33-year-old Brisbane man is the self declared “biggest Where’s Wally fan in the world” and has collected all the books from the iconic series since he was 7 years old.
Mr Nguyen contacted news.com.au after reading our story on the 14 things you never knew about Where’s Wally.
“From a young age I was hooked on the detailed images and scenes of this lovable character and his adventures,” Mr Nguyen told news.com.au.
“I really love [making the artwork] because it brings you back to your childhood,” he said.
“I have fond memories of my childhood and it brings those nostalgic feelings back.”
Each individual component from the artwork — every facial feature, limb and prop — has been traced, cut out using an art knife and glued onto a black background surface. It’s an arduous and fiddly process.
