News anchor Betty Nguyen has left CBS News.
Nguyen, who started her television news career in Texas before moving on to CNN, had worked for CBS for two years. She announced her departure via Twitter on Friday, saying that day’s edition of “CBS Morning News” would be her final CBS appearance.
“Preparing to anchor my last show on CBS News,” Nguyen wrote on her Twitter account. “It’s been an incredible experience working with some of the best in the business.”
Nguyen rose to prominence at CNN, where she anchored the network’s coverage of some of the world’s biggest events: earthquakes in Chile and Haiti in 2010; the shooting at Virginia Tech in 2007; the passing of Pope John Paul II in 2005; and the Iraqi elections in 2005.
