During the Vietnam War, it was Dan Cherry’s duty to bring down the opposition. More than 40 years ago, he shot down an enemy plane and always wondered about the pilot at its command. For years after that day on April 16, 1972, Cherry thought about the man and what he’d say if they ever met. Their reunion happened on Vietnamese television in 2008 and now, Cherry, of Indianapolis, and Hong My have forged a friendship that led to a new book, “My Enemy, My Friend.”
