According to the Houston Chronicle, her hometown newspaper, Dao will appear on “Project Runway Vietnam.” She will serve as a judge and also a co-executive producer of the show, and she leaves in just 10 days to begin filming.
In 2006, Dao won the second season of “Project Runway,” which airs on the Lifetime television network. She won $100,000 to put toward her own clothing line, a car and a spread in a fashion magazine. She also produced a popular sportswear collection, Simply Chloe Dao, that sold on QVC.
Dao, 40, has been busy working on her Vietnamese language skills and finishing projects in the works, including wedding gowns for spring brides, before she leaves.
“As a Vietnamese American, I’m honored to be invited to represent both cultures and looking forward to being a judge instead of a contestant. I’m also excited to see what Vietnamese designers will bring to Project Runway,” Dao told the Houston Chronicle.
