California State Senator Janet Nguyen (R-Garden Grove) stands firm when it comes to state run universities displaying the American flags.

After all, as a child of immigrants coming to America seeking a better life, the American flag is a symbol of freedom and sacrifice that she and her family along with every veteran know all too well. That’s why she and fellow colleagues are proposing a Senate Constitutional Amendment an amendment
that will prohibit state funded colleges and universities from banning the US flag on campus.

This comes on the heels of an incident that happened just last week at the University of California, Irvine where six members of the legislative student council voted to ban ALL flags, including the US one, from being displayed in the Student Government building. That move was later vetoed by other student leaders. Nguyen says this proposed amendment is to ensure this doesn’t come up again.
