Creative Director and Designer Khanh Nguyen was originally supposed to be a biologist.

Instead, Nguyen will be bringing her Fall 2013 collection of her Nha Khanh fashion line to Birmingham for the 55th annual Linly Heflin Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show Wednesday, Sept. 25.
The show, which supports Alabama women seeking high education, starts at noon at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel Ballroom. Tickets are $50. Wendy Gardner of NBC 13’s “Daytime Alabama” will host.
Nguyen originally began her college career at the University of North Texas as a biology student, but decided to change her major a semester before she was supposed to graduated.
“I actually studied biology for three-and-a-half years,” she said. “I knew there was something missing, so I went ahead and I changed my major to fashion design without my parent’s approval.”
