Then first things first, you need to start thinking about your skin tone.
Lip colour can be a bold statement and you don’t want your hue of choice to drain or overwhelm your face.
“It’s all about the undertones,” make-up artist and beauty guru Michelle Phan writes on her blog.
“Warm versus cool undertones appear in all skin colours, so your lipsticks should coordinate with them,” she says.
Generally speaking, olive skin looks best in light browns with warm tones, or dark brownish-reds.
