Tuyen Tran is a menswear-trained womenswear designer who approaches fashion as a form of product design, with its main functions being to enable movement, adapt to different environments, and enhance the wearer’s happiness.

“My thesis collection, Assemble, is a collection of practical components for the different roles we play in life as we strive to achieve a balance between protection and expression, and a harmony between being part of a greater assembly and being ourselves. Laborer identities from the absolutes of white- to blue-collar ensembles are examined through cut and proportion. Within this world exists a spectrum of individuals who dress according to creative functions, including the scholar, artist, traveler, and socialite, among others.
