In your time of need, every second and minute counts. So you can imagine Helen Nguyen’s frustration with the Seattle Police Department when it took the over 3 hours to respond to her 911 calls.
Nguyen owns a nail salon in South Seattle and called 911 after a thief stole $300 dollars. Nguyen said she called police 3 times before they arrived but by then she had already left her shop. Seattle police said an officer was sent to the location around midnight.

Nguyen said she even had surveillance and is upset that small business owners are not being prioritized. Sgt. Sean Whitcomb said they place life-threatening, in-progress emergencies first for responses, but admits they should have handled the call better. Nguyen’s business to take a report and collect the surveillance video for a burglary detective to follow up on.
