It’s hard to imagine that with an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion dollars, that Pham Nhat Vuong didn’t even crack the top 1000 in Forbes 2015 Billionaires List.
Not only did Vietnam’s richest man rank at 1,118th, he fell 26 notches from his ranking last year even though his assets increased by $100 million. He is the current chairman of the Vingroup, which specializes in real estate and is described by Forbes as “Vietnam’s only billionaire.”

Pham studied in Moscow and started Technocom, an instant noodle company and later sold the company to Nestle in 2009. He moved back to Vietnam in 2001 and dipped his hands into real estate and found much success there. He is currently working on a project called Vinhomes Central Park, a $1.5 billion dollar project that will boast of an 81 story skyscraper, making it the tallest in Vietnam. He also has plans to build 100 new supermarkets (VinMart) and 1000 convenience stores within the next three years.
Bill Gates tops the list once again with a net worth of $79.2 billion dollars. In total, the 1,826 billionaires have a net worth of over $7.05 trillion dollars.
