WYOMING – A versatile student athlete, Godwin Heights junior Don Nguyen added the title all-state wrestler to his resume with his performance at the Division 3 individual state wrestling finals at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Don wrapped up an impressive junior season by placing sixth in the 119-pound weight class. A conference champion during the regular season, Don finished the season with a 46-6 overall record.
“Don had a great overall weekend at state,” Godwin Heights coach Daniel Underhill said. “It was Don’s first trip to the Palace as a competitor and he stayed focused and adapted very well . He had a couple state champs in his weight class and a couple state runner-ups. We knew he had to wrestle tough all weekend to get a place on the medal stand and he beyond exceeded our expectations. We could not be more proud of how Don wrestled at state. Don did a great job representing Godwin Heights.”
