Trong đạo Cao Đài, bà giữ chức Chánh Phối Sư, là một trong 3 vị được bầu ra từ 36 vị Phối Sư, đó là một chức sắc khá lớn trong Cửu Trùng Đài, lo về thi hành các luật pháp để độ rỗi chúng sanh.
Ngoài công việc Đạo, bà còn là một người chu toàn bổn phận làm vợ, làm Mẹ của 6 con nay đã thành danh.
Ngày 24 tháng 7 năm 2014, buổi sáng mấy chị em gọi nhau nhắc nhớ, ngày này, đúng 35 năm trước, mấy chị em đã cùng Mẹ vượt biển. Và mấy chị em không thể ngờ rằng, cũng ngày này, chiều lại Mẹ đã giã từ các con ra đi vĩnh viễn.
Soạn những thứ Mẹ để lại mới thấy Mẹ đã chu toàn mọi thứ cho ngày Mẹ đi. Áo quần, khăn, mũ, tiền bạc, cho tang lễ…Mẹ không muốn là nỗi âu lo của các con.
Nhìn đồ đạt Mẹ để lại, Mấy chị em cũng tìm thấy những tập giấy trắng đủ loại, đủ cở, do Mẹ xin từ tập dư của các con, các cháu, và cả tập dư của con cháu các bạn. Mẹ thấy các con xài phí quá, cứ nửa tập là vứt đi. Mẹ cắt ca cắt cẩm lượm lại rồi xé hết những trang đã viết, để cất lại những trang còn trắng, Mẹ dồn để mang về Việt Nam cho những học sinh nghèo. Nhìn những thứ Mẹ chuẩn bị cho sự ra đi của Mẹ mà lòng các con quặn đau. Lúc nào lòng Mẹ cùng đầy đặn ngay cả khi chuẩn bị cho cái chết.

Grandma Lap lived a full and exemplary life until the last day of her life. She’s an inspiration for us all with how she raised 6 successful children in every measures. Despite being old age, you are a very strong not requiring any assistance even if I offer to help you. I wish I got to talk to you more, but you are now in a better place.
