The students, two from each of the district’s 10 intermediate schools (grades 7-8), will be recognized by the Garden Grove Lodge No. 351 as part of the Masons’ yearly observance of Public Schools Week. The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge,
Selections for the awards were based on such factors as leadership, campus service, citizenship, and academic excellence.
The recipients, by school, are:
Alamitos: David Lozano and Gianhu Nguyen
Doig: Hector Perez and Bonnie Bui
Fitz:
McGarvin: Peshiman Azadzoi and Desiree Gamino
Ralston: Robert Sabino and Samantha Ammann
Walton: Breana Naea and Jocelyn Gutierrez.
Public Schools Month has been sponsored and promoted by the Free and Accepted Masons of California since 1920. Masonic lodges in each area, together with local school districts, select a week in April as a special time for recognizing the contributions of public education.
