HANOI – Ten people were reported dead in central Vietnam floods Tuesday, bringing the total deaths in the past week to 41 with another five missing, a flood official said.

Nearly 450,000 houses had been flooded, an official from the Central Steering Committee for Storm and Flood Control said, 182,000 more than announced Monday.
More than 4,000 hectares of rice and vegetable crops were destroyed, he said, up by 1,000 hectares compared with figures released Monday.
