An explosion and fire broke out at a coffee bar under construction in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi on Tuesday, killing at least six workers, while others were sent to hospital in unconscious condition, local media reported.

Due to carelessness, electric wielding sparked fire and explosion when a group of 10 workers were refurbishing the coffee bar, major general Nguyen Duc Nghi, vice director of Hanoi Police, told local online VNExpress.
Witnesses said they heard a big explosion at 2:30 p.m local time from the construction site on Tran Thanh Tong street in downtown Hanoi.
Two of the 10 workers died on the spot, while four others succumbed to injuries on the way to or in the hospital. Besides the four injured workers, some fire-fighters got unconscious due to the toxic smog.
