This morning Motley Fool serves up “4 Reasons to Chill About Sriracha’s Public Nuisance Ruling,” concerning the Irwindale, California, city council’s vote last week to declare the maker of the hot sauce a public nuisance thanks to the spicy stank of chili fumes. The takeaway: Huy Fong Foods, which has three months to get that smell under control, isn’t going anywhere.

But that’s not stopping state Rep. Jason Villalba from reiterating his plea to its CEO David Tran, who he’s been trying to lure to North Texas since January.
Says the Dallas representative on Facebook this morning, a vote like the one that happened in California last week “would not happen in Texas.” And so, once more, “I implore the Tran Family: just meet with us. Let us tell you what is possible by moving your operations to Texas. You will not be disappointed.”
But, sadly, it appears Tran has no interest in looking elsewhere, likely because the peppers used in Sriracha are picked near the factory — and just hours before they’re turned into Your Favorite Condiment.
