Dr. Tien Vu was on duty at Children’s Hospital Colorado the night that a shooter opened fire in a crowded movie theater. It wasn’t until later in the day, even after she had watched one gunshot victim die and she and colleagues had treated several others, that she realized the magnitude of the event.
