Coach for College teachers combine sports, education to create a fun classroom setting for kids in Vietnam.
Parker Goyer, a former member of the Duke University women’s tennis team, said that it was tough for athletes to take part in life experiences abroad because of team commitments. But after she graduated in 2007, she came up with a way to do, starting Coach for College, a summertime service program in Vietnam. This summer, 60 student athletes traveled to Vietnam to teach middle-school students – and learn about themselves at the same time.
