Opening arguments are scheduled in the trial of Dawn Nguyen, the woman charged with buying the guns William Spengler Jr. used to kill two volunteer firefighters on Christmas Eve 2012.

Jury selection for Nguyen’s trial wrapped up Friday afternoon. Prosecutors and her defense attorneys are expected to begin arguments Monday morning in court.
Authorities say Nguyen lied on a gun purchase form when she bought weapons in 2010 for Spengler, a convicted felon. Spengler set fire to his home on Lake Road in Webster early on the morning of Dec. 24, 2012, then fatally shot two firefighters and wounded two others before committing suicide.
Nguyen was later charged in a state court with falsifying a business record. She also faces federal charges for the gun purchases.
