A doctor-turned-priest who worked with lepers has inspired members of the Vietnamese community to put together a music CD.
Father Chung with a child he raised since the age of four months.

Chung Viet Nguyen was a malaria parasite specialist and dermatologist by profession, before becoming a Catholic priest in 2003.
The CD titled ‘Christmas in Poverty’ was made by the Compassion of Melbourne Group and even though most of those who contributed to the CD had never met Father Chung before, they respected his work.
The purpose of the CD, according to Dr Thien Nguyen in Victoria is to “express gratitude to those who have helped Father Chung in his journey to help the impoverished.”
Sister Thuy Linh Nguyen from the congregation of Salesian Sisters lent her voice to some of the songs on the CD.
“I have never met Father Chung before, but only heard other people talk about him. I saw the way he sacrificed himself for others and so I wanted to contribute to this CD,” she said.
