As a high school student, Binh “Gene” Nguyen reluctantly went when his mother sent him to school to learn the ins and outs of working in the nail salon industry. It was the start of his business career.
Now, he and his family run a business that teaches fellow Vietnamese Americans how to do nails. He also owns a restaurant and nightclub in suburban Washington, D.C.
And most recently, Nguyen, 41, founded and presides over the newly formed Vietnamese-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Washington.
