Tomball resident Khai Tran lost in the first round of the Boys 18 Singles Red Division at the Houston Tennis Association National Junior Tennis and Learning Zone Advancement Tournament held Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 7-8, in Houston.

According to the United States Tennis Association, he lost to Nehemiah Wicker, of Clute, 6-0, 6-0. He lost in the first round of the consolation bracket to Luke Thrower, of Houston, 6-1, 6-1.
