Georgia college gets a taste of Germany from an unlikely chef

At Georgia Southern University, Son’s Doner Kebab is proof that America is a true melting pot, especially when it comes to food.

Son Nguyen, who is a Vietnamese immigrant who moved to Germany when he was 19, spent 20 years learning how to make doner kebab, a German fast food version of the Greek gyro before bringing the recipe with him to America four years ago.

Nguyen hopes his authentic version of Germany’s doner kebab will introduce people to a new cuisine that is in his words, “fast, cheap and delicious.”
