“These orphans are the children of God, and we are their brothers and sisters. They can lean on our shoulders for help,” Trinh said.
“As little as a dollar, every little bit counts to help the kids in Viet Nam,” said Thien Nguyen, who is in charge of planning and media of the Franciscan Charity. “These kids need all the help they can get, and we want to make them enjoy their childhood.”
Nguyen said that just one dollar can provide a child with three pounds of rice, a big step toward alleviating hunger.
The amount raised was not disclosed, but Khuong Tran, executive director, said the donations will help “give these children the love and care that they deserve.”
“Without the generosity of the community, none of this would be possible, and we are thankful we can help the children,” said Nguyet Dinh, vice president of operations for Franciscan Charity.
