There
is good news for budget-conscious parents as the Garden Grove Unified School
District holds the line on prices for all regular student meals for the 2012-13
school year. The new school year for all GGUSD students begins Thursday, Sept.
6.
“For the fourth consecutive year, we are able to maintain
our low prices while providing quality service and healthy, nutritious meals
for our students,” said Agnes Lally, director of food services for the
district.
Elementary school lunch
remains $1.50. At district secondary schools, intermediate school lunches will
cost $2 while high school lunches will sell for $2.50. Reduced-price lunches
for all qualifying students are 40 cents.
Students buying
breakfast will pay $1.25 in elementary and $1.50 in intermediate schools.
Breakfasts at high school will cost $1.75. Reduced-price breakfasts will
continue to be sold for 30 cents.
Milk prices in the
district are 50 cents for a half-pint serving.
The National School
Lunch Program is offered at all district schools; the National School Breakfast
Program is available at 36 elementary schools, all 10 intermediate schools, and
seven high schools; and the After-School Snack Program is available at 41
elementary schools, nine intermediate schools, and two high schools.
School meals may be
purchased using cash, pre-payment by check at the school, and through the myLunchMoney.com online payment
option.
