The gift of net books, spiral notebooks, pens, pencils, and erasers will be delivered to the school campus on Thursday. Students will be on hand to accept the contribution and unload the items for classmates in preparation for the new school year that begins on Sept. 6.
My Williams, an English teacher at Los Amigos, and her husband, Randy, the director of audio-visual services and integration at Fluor, were instrumental in securing the donation.
“It is humbling to know that people, many of whom do not know any of our students or staff, are committed to assisting in the educational experience of our students,” said Principal Robin Patterson. “With our current economic situation, the needed school supplies could not have arrived at a better time. This generous donation from Fluor Corp. and its employees will help ease some of the financial challenges our families face when planning school-related purchases.”
